As a Business Analyst reporting to the Regional Systems Manager, you will play a key role in modernizing transcription services through the reconfiguration of dictation workflows and the implementation of Front-End Speech Recognition (FESR). You will support the optimization of M*Modal Fluency, Fluency Flex, and Fluency Direct systems, helping align technology, business processes, and clinical needs. This role involves collaborating with transcription, clinical, and transformation teams to document processes, develop system strategies, support system rollouts, and create clear user documentation and communications that enable successful adoption and service delivery.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in the area of Health Information Management/Technology, Science (Finance, Mathematics, etc.) or Business Administration, plus a minimum of three (3) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of policy and standards for transcription services.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and techniques, principles and practices with superior analytical skills for data, documentation and workflows, including the ability to comprehend, analyze and resolve complex issues and present information in concise, meaningful ways.
  • Highly competent in using Microsoft Word office suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Understanding of systems analysis and design, related tools and techniques (e.g. data flow diagrams, etc.), and continuous quality improvement.
  • Knowledge of hospital operations and health care administration requirements.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills including strong business writing skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical and business information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to analyze operational problems and identify innovative solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from various disciplines with varying degrees of functional and technical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage effective relationships with vendors and external organizations.
  • Effective interpersonal and facilitation skills including the ability to work effectively with diverse user community.
  • Ability to coordinate and lead work groups.

Your Day to Day

  • Gathers and translates business requirements into functional specifications, test plans, and testing activities
  • Prepares and maintains documentation such as business requirements, business rules, solution blueprints, and workflow diagrams
  • Acts as a liaison between business/operations teams and technical teams to ensure accurate translation of business needs into system functionality
  • Communicates business goals, directives, and process changes to project and technical stakeholders
  • Provides subject matter expertise on regulations, standards, policies, and system behaviour to support process redesign and improvement
  • Supports the Transcription Services Team with operational and implementation issues through data analysis, indicator development, and recommendations
  • Analyzes system data, user feedback, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to improve data quality and workflows
  • Recommends standardized transcription processes to support Health Information Management objectives
  • Collaborates with integrated system teams to identify gaps between system functionality and business needs
  • Builds strong working relationships with CST, IMITS, Health Record Services, and other key stakeholders
  • Conducts post-implementation reviews and quality improvement assessments for new or enhanced applications
  • Prepares reports, presentations, and communications on project status, policy changes, and system updates
