Overview
We are seeking responsible and alert Community Safety Members to help maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for community facilities, residential properties, and partner organizations. This role focuses on prevention, visibility, and assistance, not enforcement.
The ideal candidate is observant, calm under pressure, and committed to supporting community well-being through proactive presence and clear communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot and mobile patrols of assigned areas
- Monitor and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or incidents
- Provide assistance and information to community members and visitors
- Complete accurate incident and daily activity reports
- Enforce site rules and safety policies in a professional manner
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and coordinate with supervisors or emergency services when required
- Maintain a visible, approachable, and professional presence at all times
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide patient care including medication administration and health monitoring under supervision
- Support seniors and individuals with disabilities through companionship and assistance with errands or appointments
- Prepare meals according to dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry
- Document client progress and communicate effectively with healthcare teams or family members
- Offer emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Assist with specialized care needs such as dementia or hospice care, ensuring comfort and dignity at all times
- Engage clients in recreational activities to enhance social interaction and overall happiness
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care practices, medication administration, and dementia or hospice care preferred
- Ability to work compassionately with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized support such as dementia or hospice care
- Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication abilities
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility needs
- Basic meal preparation skills to meet dietary restrictions and nutritional needs
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to adapt to different client needs and schedules
