We're hiring a Senior Mechanical Designer to lead and mentor within our Global Mining team. You'll play a pivotal role in designing underground backfill systems, tailings disposal, ore handling, dewatering systems, and more — shaping the future of mining infrastructure across Canada and beyond.Your ImpactDesign and review 3D models and mechanical layouts using AutoCAD, Plant3D, and other platformsEstablish drafting standards and QA/QC procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality deliverablesValidate drawings from junior designers and ensure technical accuracy across all phasesLead time management across design phases to meet project milestones efficientlyMentor junior staff and foster technical growth within the teamContribute to feasibility and detailed design for shaft infrastructure, ventilation, and processing systemsConduct site visits to validate designs and connect with real-world applicationsCollaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutionsSupport cost estimating for proposals with practical design insightsChampion WSP's Safety First culture and uphold our core valuesThe Skills That Set You ApartDiploma in Mechanical Engineering Design or equivalent10+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally with exposure to mining operationsProven leadership in mentoring and guiding junior staffProficient in AutoCAD and Plant3D; familiarity with SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit, Bentley AutoPLANT, Civil3D, and Microsoft OfficeComfortable working in both field and office environments; valid driver's license requiredPassion for designing systems that improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability in miningCommitted to excellence and continuous improvement in technical deliveryCompensation BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $77,400 – $102,500
MB & ON: $70,600 – $97,200
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $69,900 – $92,900 Disclosure:
