Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced IBM DataStage Developer with prior banking or financial services experience to design, develop, and optimize ETL solutions supporting regulatory, risk, finance, and enterprise data platforms. The ideal candidate understands banking data, operates comfortably in complex environments, and collaborates effectively with business, QA, and data teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL jobs using IBM InfoSphere DataStage
  • Build end-to-end data pipelines from source systems to enterprise data warehouses / data lakes
  • Work with large-scale banking data (transactions, accounts, customer, risk, regulatory, finance)
  • Optimize DataStage jobs for performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Perform data validation, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis of data issues
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Architects, QA, and downstream consumers
  • Support production deployments, incident resolution, and batch scheduling
  • Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOX, Basel, AML)
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and data mappings
  • Required Skills & Experience
  • 5–10+ years of hands-on experience with IBM DataStage (11.x preferred)
  • Prior banking or financial services experience is mandatory
  • Strong SQL skills (Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, or similar)
  • Experience working with large datasets and complex data transformations
  • Solid understanding of ETL concepts, data warehousing, and batch processing
  • Experience with Unix/Linux, shell scripting, and job scheduling tools
  • Familiarity with regulatory, risk, finance, or reporting data in banking environments
  • Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and data analysis skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Exposure to DataStage parallel jobs, partitioning, and performance tuning
  • Knowledge of Informatica / Ab Initio / Talend (migration experience a plus)
  • Understanding of Agile / SDLC processes
  • Experience with data quality, lineage, and metadata tools
