AQUACULTURE TECHNICIAN

Island Scallops Ltd is accepting resumes for our Qualicum Beach Shellfish operation. If you are interested in aquaculture and can help grow our company, we would like to speak to you. The position encompasses Microalgae culture, Brood stock conditioning and spawning, Larval rearing and husbandry, Nursery production, Equipment cleaning and maintenance and Record keeping. The positions are usually day shift but since we work with live animals it is a 7 day a week operation with some early mornings and/or long days to work the tides and the weather.

SKILLS REQUIRED: Education in marine biology or aquaculture is great but equal consideration will be given to applicants with relevant shellfish industry experience who are hard working and a team player.

OTHER ASSETS: Experience in a commercial-scale shellfish hatchery, mechanically inclined with plumbing and general building experience.

START DATE: As Soon as Possible

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
