About Moods Tea

Moods Tea is a Vancouver-based startup developing functional, mood-based tea blends designed to support every mood. As a growing business, we operate in a hands-on, resource-conscious environment where team members play a meaningful role in shaping the brand.

This is a startup role, not a corporate position with rigid boundaries. We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable:

  • Working with minimal supervision
  • Taking ownership of outcomes, not just tasks
  • Wearing multiple hats as the business grows
  • Figuring things out independently and asking questions when needed

If you are looking for a narrowly defined role with constant direction, this position will not be a good fit.

Role Overview

The Brand & Marketing Coordinator will independently manage and execute core brand and marketing activities for Moods Tea. This role contributes directly to building brand awareness, supporting market entry, and improving marketing processes in a startup environment.

The position requires strong organizational skills, accountability, and the ability to prioritize work in a part-time schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute brand and marketing initiatives aligned with business goals
  • Manage and grow the company's digital presence (social media, website, online platforms)
  • Create, organize, and maintain marketing content and promotional materials
  • Conduct market and competitor research (pricing, positioning, customer segments)
  • Support brand consistency across packaging, messaging, and customer touchpoints
  • Track basic performance metrics and prepare simple progress summaries
  • Assist with outreach to cafés, retailers, and community partners
  • Identify inefficiencies and suggest practical improvements to marketing processes

Autonomy & Expectations

  • Works independently with limited day-to-day supervision
  • Manages priorities and deadlines within agreed objectives
  • Takes responsibility for assigned initiatives from start to finish
  • Communicates progress, challenges, and results clearly

Qualifications

  • More than anything this role would require initiation and ownership.
  • Diploma or degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field OR equivalent practical experience
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a startup or small-business environment
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital tools
  • Able to manage responsibilities effectively in a part-time role
