Bayshore Medical Personnel is seeking a Psychiatrist for our Federal Client in St. John's, Newfoundland

The Candidate must possess a valid license to practice without restrictions as a registered Psychiatrist in the province that the work is to be performed

QUALIFICATIONS

The Candidate must possess six months of recent experience performing the following tasks:

  • Performing psychiatric assessments
  • Diagnosing health concerns related to mental illness
  • Developing individual treatment plans
  • Prescribing medications to treat psychiatric conditions
  • Maintaining and updating medical records
  • Treating anxiety disorders, such as, but not limited to, generalized anxiety, panic, or phobias
  • Treating mood disorders, such as, but not limited to, depression or bipolar disorder
  • Treating trauma, such as, but not limited to, physical or sexual assault or emotional abuse
  • Treating post-traumatic stress disorder and treating substance use disorder
  • Participation in case conferences, quality improvement, audits, and grievance processes.
  • Collaboration with interdisciplinary health teams.
  • Compliance with Nelson Mandela Rules and cultural sensitivity (including Indigenous considerations).

CREDENTIAL AND LICENSING MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid license to practice within Newfoundland
  • CV confirming 6 months of recent experience
  • Reliability Status security clearance certificate number
  • Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Two professional references
