Job Title: Social Service Worker

Location: Oshawa, ON

Type: On-Call

Rate: $25/hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide social and emotional support to children and youth in a residential setting.
  • Conduct intake assessments and assist in developing individualized care plans.
  • Facilitate daily routines, educational, and recreational activities to promote engagement and growth.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, progress reports, and documentation in line with agency standards.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with children, families, and team members.
  • Collaborate with healthcare and educational professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Uphold confidentiality, professional ethics, and compliance with all agency and legal requirements.

Key Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Social Service Work or a related field.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate.
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and Child Welfare Record Check (BSC).
  • Current TB Test and Immunization Record.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Oshawa, ON (L1J): reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • CPR Certification (required)
  • Medical Examination (6 Months) (required)
  • VSC (Vulnerable Sector Check) (required)
  • PSW/DSW Certification (required)
