Our Ottawa based client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to serve as a critical liaison between business needs and solutions, supporting the early phase of business readiness in advance of transforming corporate functions, including HR, Finance, and Procurement. The Business Analyst ensures alignment of deliverables across process, data, change, and technical streams of work, influencing the prioritization of actions to deliver timely business value. This position requires collaboration between technical and business teams to achieve organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and translate business needs:
     Gather, document, and analyze data requirements, supporting the development of a data dictionary for HR, Finance, and Procurement processes. Assist in prioritizing data assessment work and establishing a corrective action plan.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders:
     Work closely with HR, Finance, Procurement, Data, and Process teams to ensure alignment between process development and data inventory.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration:
     Engage with business stakeholders, management, Line of Business SMEs, and team members to ensure artifacts are clearly understood.
  • Support data readiness deliverables:
     Contribute to deliverables required for business readiness for ERP implementation, including deliverable review, governance content preparation, and action plans across various streams.
  • Enable Delivery Readiness:
     Support initiative teams by highlighting risks, dependencies, and deliverable timelines, collaborating with leads to effectively manage risks and dependencies.

Specific Project/Platform Requirements:

  • Experience with large transformation programs.
  • Experience with data and process assessments.

Top Skills Required:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Commerce, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar position.
  • 2+ years of experience working within digital journey or digitalization projects.

Other Skills Required:

  • Experience with data and process inventory/design work.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Assets:

  • BA Certification such as IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or IIBA Agile Analysis Certificate or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience with modern ERPs and large transformation programs.
  • Experience working in Finance, HR, and/or Procurement portfolios.
  • Master's Certificate in Business Analysis.
  • Agile Certification such as PMI Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) or similar.
  • French/English Bilingual.
  • Experience in the financial industry, including insurance products and services.
  • Experience in business intelligence, data, and reporting.
