The Finance Associate is responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness in vendor payments, posting customer payments, preparing documents for government program submission and account/customer reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Prepare and execute weekly payment runs (EFT/ACH).
  • Maintain vendor records and respond to inquiries.
  • Record and apply customer payments accurately. Investigate short payments.
  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due customer accounts.
  • Support government programs (IREP,CDC,Excise, duty drawback, HST)/ audits and provide required documentation.
  • Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems.
  • Assist with journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and internal controls.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • 2–5 years of experience in accounting.

  • Proficiency with ERP accounting software (e.g., Business Central).

  • Strong Excel and data entry skills.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

  • Ensure compliance to Quality and Food Safety requirements within the scope of the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
