Position DescriptionCurrently, Tetranex is seeking a full-time SPI Wiring Specialist/Electrical Designer.
Responsibilities:
- Development and revisions of SPI wiring within existing databases.
- SPI wiring drawing production.
- Design and drafting of electrical, controls and instrumentation drawings including, but not limited to: motor control schematics, layouts, cable schedules, panel layouts, I/O schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.
- Assist in the development of project design, drafting deliverables and project work packages.
- Support of senior team resources in the development of design calculations and studies including, but not limited to: equipment & cable sizing and selection, voltage drop, cable tray fill, etc.
- Quality assurance and support of project schedule input and progress tracking.
- Communication and coordination with department and project team members as required.
- Mentor junior design resources to ensure that they are properly instructed in the performance of their assigned tasks.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Design from a recognized technical institute or comparable industry experience.
- Extensive experience in design applications in support of energy sector projects, specifically in the use of SmartPlant wiring within existing databases.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- 3D CAD and NavisWorks experience as asset.
- Solid working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code.
- Bluebeam Revu experience required.
- SmartPlant database creation an asset.
- Ability to work independently and in team environments.
- Strong work ethic as well as analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with others.
