Description

This role is responsible for understanding and applying the Construction Quality Management Plan with a focus on material quality assurance and control ensuring that all materials used in the project comply with approved specifications, regulatory requirements, and contractual standards. The role involves coordinating inspections, maintaining full material traceability, and ensuring that verification, testing, and documentation processes are effectively executed in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans.

Responsibilities


• Maintain material traceability for materials received, installed, or fabricated.


•Maintain and update the material receiving inspection register to reflect current inspection and approval status.


•Verify that materials are supported by approved submittals, inspection/test certificates, mill certificates, certificates of conformity, and other applicable required documentation.


•Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and construction teams to ensure that only approved materials are procured, delivered, and installed.


•Liaise with suppliers, fabricators, and third-party inspection agencies to confirm compliance with Project requirements prior to shipment.


•Coordinate off-site inspections and release documentation for precast elements, structural steel, reinforcement, and other specialized systems.


•Support field teams in material receiving inspections, ensuring delivered materials match approved documentation and specifications.


•Ensure all materials are properly tagged, labeled, and identified to maintain traceability during handling, storage, and installation.


•Review testing and sampling reports to confirm compliance with project specifications and ITP requirements.

Ensure that all required Hold and Witness Points are completed, verified, and properly recorded.


•Identify and report non-conforming materials, coordinating disposition, replacement, or return as appropriate.


•Prepare and issue periodical quality reports, summarizing inspection progress, open NCRs, and pending submittals.


•Support the preparation for turnover and audit purposes.


•Participate in internal and external quality audits and ensure prompt closure of any audit findings.


•Collaborate with construction teams to promote best practices for quality assurance and compliance.

Qualifications


• Have the qualifications demonstrated by certificates of training and experience on transit construction projects.


•In-depth knowledge of construction processes, materials, and industry best practices.


•Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting project specifications, drawings, and Inspection & Test Plans.


•Experience with quality inspection tools, testing methods, and documentation practices.


•Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements, codes, and construction standards.


•Ability to identify, document, and manage Non-Conformances and corrective actions.


•Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.


•Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
