GP Steward (Relief/Casual)





Bay
Ferries Limited is currently recruiting GP Stewards for casual
positions working on MV Fundy Rose, a year-round ferry service
across the Bay of Fundy between Digby, Nova Scotia and Saint John, New
Brunswick.

This
is a casual, unlicensed position and may lead to a full-time position. 


Preference will be given to applicants with:

  • CDN
    number.
  • Valid
    Marine Medical.
  • MED
    (Marine Emergency Duties).
  • Passenger Safety Management.

Description
of role:

Stewards
ensure the safety and comfort of our passengers while onboard and undertake
cleaning of the public areas, washroom and crew areas of the vessel.  They
assist with embarkation and disembarkation of passengers, and engage with
customers to provide information, assistance and overall professional, friendly
customer service.  Stewards may also be required to perform other
General-Purpose duties, such as Deckhand.  Fundy Rose is a
live-aboard vessel, and Stewards must be prepared to reside on the vessel for 7
days.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience in the passenger ship industry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a
    team.
  • Proven track record of safe operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Valid CDN # and marine medical.
  • MED - STCW 6.1 & STCW 6.2
