We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer service. This position involves transporting steel across Southern Ontario while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the freight. A successful Truck Driver will possess excellent driving skills, knowledge of vehicle maintenance, and the ability to handle heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently to transport standard steel to designated locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of steel on flatbed trailer.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, using Elogs and delivery times
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while operating the vehicle.
  • Perform basic mechanical repairs as needed to keep the vehicle in optimal condition.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Experience in commercial driving is preferred; familiarity with flat bed.
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is advantageous.
  • Basic mechanical repair skills are desirable for maintaining vehicle performance.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) as required during loading and unloading processes.
