Your role, your impact

As Director of Expertise, Data and Analytics, reporting to the Senior Director, you'll lead a team of advanced data and analytics (BI) experts who support the delivery needs of our Quebec division's business sectors. Your ability to carry out and deliver projects will be essential to the success of the Innovation and Technology Centre (ITC) for the expertise under your leadership.

You'll develop and promote your area of expertise by ensuring the team's skills and implementing the right tools, methodologies, and best practices to ensure efficient, high-quality service. You'll contribute to the ITC's innovative positioning by staying abreast of emerging technologies related to your field of practice.

Your day-to-day

  • Develop and manage a standardized service offering consistent with the needs of business sector clients;
  • Support Quebec subdivisions in the pre-sales phases of projects and solutions related to data and analytics expertise;
  • In active collaboration with the innovation team and business sectors, primarily finance and insurance, conduct technology monitoring to anticipate future client needs and commit to promoting innovation;
  • Develop toolkits and accelerators to ensure the efficiency and quality of services provided;
  • Communicate the advanced analytics (BI) expertise service offering internally and externally;
  • In a matrix-based operational mode, manage a team of BI experts in the delivery of services to clients in the business sectors;
  • Ensure the professional development of team members so that their expertise remains at the cutting edge of technology and their field of practice;
  • Establish training, career path, and certification plans to ensure the team's development in conjunction with the academy;
  • Actively participate in the recruitment of new employees;
  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration with all Alithya teams and peers to achieve strategic objectives;
  • Work closely with senior delivery managers in business sectors to ensure quality delivery on time and on budget;
  • Manage your team effectively to achieve the following management indicators: utilization rate, team engagement level, contribution to business development, and maintenance of team expert certifications;
  • As an expert in your field, and in collaboration with senior delivery managers in the business sectors, actively participate in drafting proposals, producing estimates, timelines, and planned resources for the services provided by your team;
  • Be responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships with external entities specializing in their field to accelerate the skills development of their teams when required.

Keys to your success

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience;
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of relevant IT experience and 3 to 5 years of IT team management experience;
  • Expertise in at least two of the following areas: data, RPA automation, artificial intelligence, cloud solutions, application modernization, digital transformation strategy, CRM or ERP solution implementation;
  • Ability to interact with clients and present technical and strategic solutions at meetings or public events;
  • Keen understanding of the market and emerging technologies;
  • Writing skills, particularly in the context of preparing proposals for clients;
  • Ability to document accurately and concisely;
  • Authentic and inspiring leadership, and ability to maintain an engaged and high-performing team;
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Attention to detail and ability to analyze, prioritize, and establish strategic planning;
  • Active monitoring of technologies in the field of data and analytics.

Language skills

  • French: Proficient
  • English: Advanced

Please note that due to the nature of the responsibilities of the position, an advanced level of English is required, in particular to communicate on a daily basis with employees and managers, clients and vendors outside of Quebec.
