Job Summary

Mine Cable Services Corporation designs and manufactures high voltage cable connection systems Including high voltage cable couplers in conjunction with cable repair equipment and materials, cable repair training and services, and rental equpment. We are looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a 2nd Year Apprentice Machinist in Edmonton, Alberta

Equipment in Operation

- HAAS CNC Vertical machining center (VF-4, VF-3)

- CNC Vertical mills with 4th axis (TM-1, TM-2P)

- CNC lathes (TL-1), CNC dual head machining centers (DSSY-30)

- Fanuc controls/G code

- Manual Lathe

- Hand tools, measurement and callibration equipment, bandsaw, various other machine shop equipment

Experience Requirements:

- Machinist Trade Certificaiton, 2nd or 3rd Period Apprentice

- 2 to 3 years Machine Shop experience

Position and Responsibilities

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables

- Actively operate machinery and equipment alongside machine shop co-workers

- Program computer numerically controlled (CNC) machining tools

- Repair machine tools and parts

- Setup and adjust production machinery

- Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance

- Verify dimensions of machined tools and parts using percision measuring instruments

- Maintain, Repair and calibrate percision measuring instruments

- Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances

General Requirements and Skills

- Fluent written and verbal communication in English

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining order and respect

- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills

- Organized and detail orientated

- Physical capability to safely lift, bend and twist carrying heavy material up to 50lbs

Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship

Pay: From $23.00 per hour
