We are currently accepting applications for an experienced Tool and Die Machinist to join our machining department. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, self-motivated professional with strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Machine Shop Lead, the Tool and Die Machinist is responsible for fabricating, repairing, and maintaining tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to meet customer specifications. This position requires working with mills, grinders, and drill presses, focusing on metal and alloy materials. The successful candidate will monitor machine performance, detect irregularities, and make precise adjustments to ensure all products meet quality and dimensional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely estimates, quotes, and written proposals
- Interpret engineering drawings, manuals, specifications, and sample parts to determine project dimensions, tolerances, and setup requirements
- Build, fit, and test tools, jigs, fixtures, and dies according to customer specifications
- Inspect and measure parts to ensure compliance with tolerances and drawings
- Troubleshoot and tune new and existing tooling while maintaining safety and quality standards
- Coordinate work priorities and tasks in alignment with leadership directives
- Design components during the quoting and pre-manufacturing process
- Support production and quality teams as needed
- Communicate effectively and collaborate within a cross-functional team environment
- Perform other duties as required to meet departmental and organizational needs
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 3 years of tool and die or precision machining experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and using precision measuring instruments
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials
- Mechanical Engineering Technology (minimum second year) or equivalent education preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and technical documentation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Work Schedule
- Full-time
- Overtime may be required based on production demands
