Overview

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cleaner to support the cleanliness and appearance of our retail and office spaces. This role plays an important part in maintaining a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for customers, employees, and visitors. The ideal candidate has experience with commercial or retail cleaning, understands proper cleaning techniques, and takes pride in high-quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain retail, office, and common areas including floors, offices, staff rooms, and washrooms
  • Perform routine floor care such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and burnishing to maintain floor appearance and safety
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize washrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and high-touch surfaces
  • Dust, wipe, and disinfect surfaces such as desks, counters, fixtures, and door handles
  • Empty garbage and recycling, replace liners, and maintain cleanliness of waste areas
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and burnishers safely and effectively
  • Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed
  • Follow all health, safety, and cleaning standards to ensure a sanitary work environment
  • Report maintenance issues or supply needs to supervisors in a timely manner

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in retail, office, or commercial cleaning preferred
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, chemicals, and safety procedures
  • Experience using cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and burnishers is an asset
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and light to moderate lifting
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with supervisors and staff

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $16.75-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6 per week
