Job Overview

Arras Events is an exciting and young event venue in search of a passionate hospitality professional to join our management team. This role is perfect for an organized individual of action who is comfortable taking the lead to spearhead the behind the scenes part of the business. Arras Events is a multi floor events venue 5 minutes from downtown with panoramic views of Vancouver. Arras is located in a beautiful new building adorned with marble. The thoughtful design is an elegant blank canvas for creating a wide variety of memorable occasions for 10 to 400 guests. We are a one-of-a-kind venue with incredible potential for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate vendors, suppliers, opening and closing teams, maintenance and cleaning of the venue.
  • Execute inventories and supply tracking.
  • Collaborate with Management team to understand event vision and requirements.
  • Support and streamline operations through the creation and implementation of standard operation procedures.
  • Lead set up and of Events through use of event orders, check lists and strategic planning
  • Work within budgets making plans for upcoming projects and initiatives
  • Responsible for maintaining the banquet venue through communication, cleanliness, organization and leadership.
  • Collaborate on upcoming projects.
  • Report on productivity, expenses and areas of opportunity.

Experience

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/ QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Proven experience in event or facility management
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management related to venue management
  • Physical fitness is an enormous asset to this role. This position is active.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in restaurant or hotel setting with high service standards in a plus
  • Proactive and results-oriented approach
  • Knowledge of standard Audio and Visual systems
  • Understanding of basic building maintenance and WSIB standards

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour
