Located in the heart of Little Italy on Commercial Drive, La Tana is a cozy, all-day Italian alimentari where handmade pasta, seasonal dishes, and carefully sourced wines take centre stage. From espresso and fresh bomboloni in the morning to elegant, soulful dinners in the evening, we celebrate the depth and joy of Italian culinary tradition — always with a West Coast sensibility.

As a member of Banda Volpi — the acclaimed restaurant group behind Savio Volpe, Elio Volpe, and Pepino's Spaghetti House — La Tana is part of a team recognized for creating some of Canada's most well-regarded dining experiences. Banda Volpi (meaning "gang of foxes") has earned a national reputation, celebrated for emphasizing thoughtful cuisine, warm hospitality, and exceptional service. Our menu is anchored by fresh pasta made daily and complemented by seasonal produce, sustainably sourced meat and seafood, and a selection of wines, vermouths, and amari that speak to the regions we draw inspiration from. With a small, open kitchen and a highly collaborative team, cooks at La Tana are involved in all aspects of the food — from production and plating to daily specials and service.

POSITION: LINE COOK

We are looking for an experienced line cook to join our kitchen team. If you're passionate about Italian cuisine, have a strong work ethic, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we want to hear from you

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Prepare and cook dishes according to our high standards, ensuring consistency and quality
• Assist with prepping ingredients for daily service
• Work on the line during service, executing dishes efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized workstation
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Help maintain inventory and stock levels for the kitchen
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented kitchen environment

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a kitchen, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant
• Ability to work under pressure and keep a calm, positive attitude during service
• Strong understanding of kitchen safety and food hygiene practices
• Genuine passion for food and Italian cuisine
• Ability to collaborate with the team and take direction from senior kitchen staff
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

AVAILABILITY

• Ideally candidate is available for evening shifts
• Must be available weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
