Our Education Assistants (EAs) are independent contractors who bring creativity and compassion to supporting home learners within the Inclusive Education Department.

We are currently seeking a part-time Education Assistant in Campbell River to support students in their family homes and in our full-day Community Connections class on Wednesdays during the 2025/2026 school year. There are currently 6-20 hours of support needed per week, with the possibility of more hours in the 26/27 school year.

Applicants with formal training or certification in Education Assistance (or equivalent experience working with diverse learners) are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic support
  • Coach executive functioning and self-regulation skills
  • Foster the student's social, spiritual, and academic growth through mentorship and encouragement
  • Partner with parents and the Case Manager to create engaging, personalized learning experiences
  • Help implement IEP goals in collaboration with the student's broader support team

Qualifications:

  • Alignment with our Biblical Attributes and a lifestyle that reflects the KCCS Foundational Beliefs
  • Experience adapting instruction for students at different ability levels
  • A teachable spirit and commitment to continued growth
  • Creativity, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication skills
  • Understanding of ASD, ADHD, PDA, and other neurodiverse profiles
  • Proficiency in Zoom, Google Workspace, and related technology
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
