Journeyperson Machinist

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyperson to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing and machining, demonstrating proficiency in various technical skills and tools. This role requires a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency in all aspects of production.
Duties
- Operate and maintain Manual and CNC machinery including CNC lathes and CNC milling machines.
- Perform CNC programming and setup for various machining tasks.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precision in manufacturing processes.
- Utilize SolidWorks and Master Cam software for design modifications and project planning.
- Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Utilize basic math skills for measurements and calculations during machining processes.
- Safely operate forklifts for material handling within the production area.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals while adhering to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Interprovincial Red Seal Certification ( or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on machining.
- Proficiency in CNC programming, operation of CNC lathes, CNC milling machines, and familiarity with Fanuc, Tosnuc or Okuma controls.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to use calipers and other measuring instruments accurately.
- Experience with SolidWorks, Mastercam, and blueprint reading is essential.
- Familiarity with assembly processes, welding techniques, hand tools, power tools, and forklift operation is preferred.
- A commitment to continuous improvement through lean manufacturing practices is highly valued.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $41.77-$47.53 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
