About the job: We are seeking motivated individuals for a term position as a Research Assistant, beginning on May 1, 2026 and ending Aug 31, 2026. This full-time, seasonal role provides hands-on experience in small plot agricultural research, offering exposure to research methodologies, equipment operation, identification of weeds, diseases, and insects, as well as agronomic practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with research agronomists to establish and maintain research trials, including field and seed preparation, planting, and pest scouting and control.
  • Apply test substances in accordance with specific research protocols.
  • Conduct assessments and collect data.

  • Strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivation and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities.
  • Enjoy working outside.
  • Valid Canadian driver's license.
  • Experience in research or with agricultural equipment is considered and asset but is not required.
  • Farm background is beneficial but not necessary.
