Traffic Control Persons (TCP) / Lane Closure Technicians (LCT) – Okanagan Region

Pay: CA$20.00–CA$30.00 per hour

Location: Okanagan, BC (Kelowna, Vernon, Penticton & surrounding areas)

Job Type: Casual / On-Call (day time work) - (Potential for Full-Time)

We are currently looking for experienced and safety-focused TCPs and LCTs to support growing operations throughout the Okanagan region.

These are casual/on-call positions — with the potential for more regular or full-time opportunities, based on performance and project demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic around work zones
• Set up, maintain, and dismantle lane closures, signs, and barricades
• Complete daily traffic control reports and documentation
• Monitor work zones for hazards and respond accordingly
• Apply traffic management plans as directed
• Support new crew members with training and guidance
• Assist with other traffic control duties as required

Qualifications

• Valid BCCSA TCP Certification (required)
• TCP -* 8months of TCP experience with a Flagging company.*
• LCT - 1year experience as a TCP and 1year experience as a LCT.
• Class 5 BC Driver's License with clean abstract (required for LCT role)
• Reliable personal transportation to and from job sites
• Good communication skills and attention to detail
• Understanding of road construction and traffic safety protocols
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Familiarity with paving techniques and construction practices is an asset.
• Must be physically fit to stand for long periods, walk considerable distances, and perform manual tasks as required.

Compensation

• TCP: $20–$25 per hour + (9.2% vacation/stat pay + union benefits)
• LCT: $25–$30 per hour + (9.2% vacation/stat pay + union benefits)
• Final wage determined based on experience and role

Experience:

• TCP: 8months exp. at least with a flagging company.
• LCT: 1 year exp. as a TCP with 1 year exp as a LCT preferred.

• Estimated Hours: Up to ~80 hours per month to start
• Candidates must be based in or near the Okanagan region
• Willingness to travel between job sites is an asset
