Overview
The Senior Full Stack Software Developer will design, develop, and maintain cloud-native, enterprise-scale digital solutions for the Children, Youth & Social Services Cluster (CYSSC). This role supports high-impact government systems using modern full-stack technologies, microservices architecture, and AI-enabled development practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and optimize cloud-native microservices using Angular (front-end) and Spring Boot (back-end)
  • Translate technical and business requirements into fully functional, tested software solutions following OPS programming standards
  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, ensuring scalability, security, and performance
  • Apply AI-driven development tools (e.g., static code analysis, AI-assisted coding) to improve code quality and development efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during implementation, migration, upgrades, and production support
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps teams throughout the SDLC
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration and deployment
  • Leverage AI/ML, NLP, and data analytics techniques to enhance automation, system intelligence, and user experience
  • Ensure compliance with security, accessibility, and OPS technical standards
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical walkthroughs
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team

Must-have Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in full-stack software development
  • Strong expertise in Front-end (Angular) and Back-end (Spring Boot)
  • Proven experience designing and implementing microservices and RESTful APIs
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures, including Microsoft Azure, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Agile development methodologies
  • Experience integrating AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-based static code analysis)
  • Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases, including query optimization
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven, cross-functional environments

Preffered Qualifications

  • Experience with middleware platforms, API gateways, and authentication frameworks (OAuth, JWT)
  • Familiarity with Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies
  • Knowledge of AODA (Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) compliance and accessible design practices
  • Experience producing system documentation and leading design walkthroughs
  • Experience embedding AI tools for Accessibility validation, Intelligent automation and Rapid prototyping and security enhancement
  • Prior experience mentoring developers in enterprise or public-sector environments
