Pet Groomer

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and grooming, with experience in pet handling and grooming techniques. This role involves providing high-quality grooming services to pets while ensuring their safety and comfort. The Pet Groomer will also assist with pet care routines, maintain a clean grooming environment, and deliver excellent customer service to pet owners. A background in veterinary or animal care is a plus, along with strong animal handling skills.

Duties

• Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, brushing, and styling for various dog breeds and other pets
• Handle animals safely and gently during grooming procedures, utilizing proper restraint techniques
• Assess each pet's health and behavior to ensure safe grooming practices
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming tools and work area
• Provide basic pet care such as ear cleaning, nail trimming, and coat maintenance
• Assist with pet sitting or boarding duties as needed
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming preferences and pet health concerns
• Assist with heavy lifting of animals or equipment when necessary
• Ensure a positive experience for pets and their owners by demonstrating patience and professionalism

Skills

• Pet grooming expertise necessary. Minimum of 2-3 years experience required for Pet Grooming of various dog & cat breeds.
• Pet grooming expertise including dog training, pet care, and animal handling skills
• Experience with veterinary procedures or veterinary technician/assistant background is advantageous
• Strong animal restraint and handling abilities to ensure safety during grooming sessions
• Knowledge of animal behavior to manage different temperaments effectively
• Customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners
• Ability to perform heavy lifting when required for larger animals or equipment
• Familiarity with kennel experience or pet sitting is beneficial
• Excellent communication skills for explaining grooming procedures and addressing client questions
• Compassionate attitude towards animals with a focus on their well-being

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
