Under the leadership of Dr. Kelly Lee (residency-trained optometrist in Vision Therapy and a Fellow of the Optometric Vision Development & Rehabilitation Association), we specialize in Pediatric Optometry, Myopia Control, and Neuro-Optometric Vision Therapy.

Job Summary

Are you energetic, empathetic, and fascinated by how the brain works? We are looking for a Vision Therapist to join our team. This is an emerging health profession akin to "physical therapy for the eyes".

You will work one-on-one with patients (primarily children, but also adults) to retrain their visual system. You will help children who are struggling in school due to visual processing issues gain the confidence and skills to succeed.

• Entry-Level Candidates: Starting pay is typically $ $20.00/hr during the comprehensive training period.
• Experienced Candidates: Higher rates within the range are reserved for those who have prior clinical experience in Vision Therapy.

What You Will Do:

• 1-on-1 Vision Therapy: Guide patients through personalized vision therapy sessions using specialized equipment, lenses, and exercises to improve eye tracking, focusing, and coordination.
• Monitor Progress: Document patient performance, update charts, and work with the optometrist to develop customized therapy plans for each patient.
• Coach & Encourage: Teach patients (and parents) how to perform at-home reinforcement exercises.
• Clinic Support: As a core part of our team, you will also be trained as an Optometric Assistant to help with patient flow, pre-testing, and administrative tasks when not in therapy sessions.

Who You Are:

• Education: You have completed post-secondary education (Degree or Diploma).
• A "People" Person: You have an instinctively empathetic, outgoing personality and feel comfortable working with patients of all ages, especially children.
• A Fast Learner: You can digest medical/technical information quickly and have a strong aptitude for science.
• Reliable & Flexible: You are available to work weekdays and Saturdays (essential for our student patients).
• No prior vision therapy experience is required.

Ideal Backgrounds & Experience While no specific experience is required, this role is an excellent career pivot for candidates with backgrounds in:

• Rehabilitation: Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA), or Kinesiology graduates.
• Healthcare/Science: General Science degrees, or Optometric Assistants looking to specialize.
• Child Development: Early Childhood Educator (ECE) or Child & Youth Worker.
