Overview
Welcome guests to the hotel, maintain complete control of the front entrance area, keep traffic moving freely, ensure vehicles are not in violation of any fire codes, unload guests' cars and direct them to the parking areas. The Door Attendant will typically be the first and last point of contact for our Resort and Casino guests and are expected to act as an experience ambassador to all external and internal customers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist guests arriving by car, taxi or limousine by opening the car door and helping to unload luggage. Extreme care and proper loading habits for protection of guest property should be taken when carts are in use.
  • Maintain post outside front doors at all times.
  • Keep front drive area clear of litter at all times. Keep any ashtrays outside doors clean at all times.
  • Assist in answering the Concierge telephone. Check and uncheck luggage for guests.
  • Assist guests with taxis.
  • Provide directions, maps and other information as requested, about the immediate and surrounding areas.
  • Maintain a clear roadway directly in front of the hotel entrance.
  • Know your role in an emergency situation such as fire alarm.
  • To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma preferred
  • Previous hotel experience preferred
  • Hotel education is an asset
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of Resort facilities
  • Knowledge of local service and attractions
  • Dynamic and outgoing personality
  • Self motivated
  • People orientated
  • Good communication skills in English (verbal, written and spoken)
  • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing for long periods of time.
  • Pushing, pulling, bending and reaching.

Associates may be required to work different shifts and schedules to accommodate the changing demand of business, including weekends and Holidays.
