Better at Home Service Provider Job Description

The Better at Home Service Provider is responsible for providing Better at Home services to clients registered in the program. Services may include light housekeeping, grocery shopping and friendly visiting. The Service Provider will liaise with all other staff involved in this project. This position reports Better at Home Coordinator and/or the Executive Director.

Tasks

Assist with the intake process for Better at Home

Provide services to Better at Home clients which can include mail drop off and collection, groceries, and light housekeeping.

Provide friendly visits to seniors where appropriate and refer to other community services.

Maintain statistics for each program and activity.

Attend job related in-services, workshops and meetings as required.

Maintain a journal of tasks and time spent on tasks.

Maintain confidentiality at all times.

Perform other related tasks and duties as required.

Qualifications and Qualities required:

  • Must have completed Grade 12.
  • Must be a people person and have a genuine interest in working with seniors.
  • Previous experience working with seniors would be an asset.
  • Excellent English skills.
  • Computer skills would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven people skills.
  • Must have a valid Driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Position term:

As soon as possible, subject to probation and funding. This is a part time, permanent position.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience

Starting at $20.00 per hour
