What We Need
Our studio is looking for a Principal Rendering Engineer local to Vancouver or willing to relocate who sets a high quality bar, loves to push the boundaries for visuals in games and has a passion for sports simulation games. You will collaborate with Engineers, Artists, Technical Artists, Designers and Producers to create spectacular visual experiences for the next massive sports franchise in our industry.
What You'll Do
Senior role as an Individual Contributor and Mentor for Render engineers.
Collaborate closely with TAs, Artists, Designers and Engineers to deliver high performance real-time graphics features suitable for a world-class sports game.
Collaborate with Designers and Artists to develop systems for R&D and prototyping of core tech and visual features for the game.
Own, design and implement full features taking the learnings out of the R&D and prototypes phases with the right balance of visuals, workflows, and performance.
Partner closely with engineering and content teams to build tools, define, develop and maintain workflows and asset pipelines for efficient delivery of art into game.
Responsible for developing, maintaining and optimizing core engine technologies and rendering features for the game.
Champion for visual quality while building and maintaining highly optimized features that meet performance targets in both speed and memory consumption.
Design and direct technical designs for Rendering Systems and Subsystems, Features, Architecture and Tools.
Have and share opinions of the broader game experience.
Manage and contribute to positive morale and a healthy team culture.
What Will Make You A Great Fit
Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of related experience building and delivering high quality render features for games.
Shipped at least two AAA titles, at least one of them on current generation consoles, on Unreal Engine, and as a Lead or Principal Rendering Engineer.
Experience owning and developing core rendering systems, features and asset delivery pipelines.
Experience with Unreal Engine implementing features with little or no divergence.
Strong 3d math skills.
Experienced in PBR shader material creation, GPU and CPU optimization.
Experience with environment, character rendering, advanced lighting techniques, special effects, particle systems.
Strong ability to work with cross disciplinary teams to effectively organize workflows.
Passion for making games.
Has a willingness to share opinions freely, and an openness to hear other opinions to consider what is best for the game.
Beneficial Qualifications
Passionate about playing and/or watching sports.
Experience with Unity HDRP is a plus.

The pay range for this position in British Columbia at the start of employment is expected to be between $139,300 and $222,900 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program. Regular, full-time employees are also eligible for a range of benefits at the Company, including: medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage; 14 paid holidays per calendar year; paid vacation time per calendar year (ranging from 15 to 25 days) or eligibility to participate in the Company's discretionary time off program; up to 10 paid sick days per calendar year; paid parental and compassionate leave; wellbeing programs for mental health and other wellness support; family planning support through Maven; commuter benefits; and reimbursements for fitness-related expenses.
