We're looking for a dedicated Labourer to join our Backframing Team. You will work alongside skilled Framers, support day-to-day site activities, and help deliver high-quality homes — all while maintaining a safe, organized, and positive work environment.

Schedule

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00 am – 4:30 pm
  • Friday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

You Will Bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in framing, back framing, or construction labour
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Safety Certifications (Working at Heights, WHMIS, WSIB)

Exceptional Skills Required

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Motivation to work hard and learn new techniques

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of back framing in residential homes
  • Strap houses (1st, 2nd, and basement living areas)
  • Construct drops, bulkheads, frost walls, basement bulk headers, and finished stairs
  • Straighten studs and complete finished basements
  • Accurately follow build sequences and working drawings
  • Manage and organize materials on-site
  • Maintain a daily clean and safe work environment
  • Attend bi-weekly Toolbox Talks and follow all Health & Safety processes
  • Contribute to a positive, Team-oriented workplace

Working Conditions

  • Majority of time is spent on construction sites
  • Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and priorities
  • Work may involve exposure to weather, noise, dust, and high-risk activities
  • PPE (hard hat & steel toes boots) is required at all times in field settings
  • Physically able to lift, bend, and work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to travel to different projects throughout the City of Ottawa
