Position Overview
The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) is an independent self-starter with and proven sales professional who bring an entrepreneurial approach to building the business, and growing sales volume within the assigned territory.
Working on our Oncology Sales Team, the ROL will develop and implement a plan to maximize the utilization of our products in targeted accounts, while staying within budget, and support the corporate objectives and highlight the delivery of our key selling messages. The ROL should incorporate a high level of service, leveraging key relationships toward being the best in class for an assay provider. The ROL is expected to solve challenging, complex problems in a dynamic environment. The plans should emphasize the need to build and maintain comprehensive relationships and develop key contact and account records in Exact Sciences' CRM system. To execute their plan, the ROL must have, or be able to quickly develop a clear understanding of key territory-related clinical/political issues and create action plans to address.
The ROL provides information critical to accomplishing the Exact Sciences mission to all parties involved in the sale of our product. The ROL will provide direct feedback to individuals so they can make accurate decisions at all levels of the company.
This position is field based (Atlantic Canada: Halifax/Moncton).
Essential Duties
- The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) will be bringing an entrepreneurial approach to building the business, and growing sales volume within the assigned territory.
- All duties must be completed in a professional and ethical manner normally associated with industry standards but most importantly compliant with standards established by Exact Sciences.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales objectives in an assigned geographic area (territory) through field-based call activity/meetings (combined with virtual interaction) with HCPs and non-clinical staff who are responsible for delivery of cancer services (breast cancer) and their staffs on a regular basis.
- The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) needs to quickly frame and understand the dynamics, key challenges and commercial potential of their assigned territory.
- The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) will successfully develop and execute a sales plan to achieve commercial objectives for the territory.
- The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) needs to maintain effective interaction both internally (management, marketing, medical affairs, corporate communications, etc.) and externally (clinicians, academicians, payers, professional societies, patient groups).
- The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) must maintain transparency in internal communications to ensure that accurate and informed decisions may be taken at all levels of Exact Sciences management (national, regional & territory).
- The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) will be committed to establishing a solid foundation of product knowledge in order to ensure that their customers recognize them as an invaluable and trusted resource within the assigned territory. Hence, The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) will be required to successfully complete all training programs to develop the necessary fluency to convey our clinical and economic evidence to physicians and other key stakeholders.
- The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) must provide outstanding customer service and build strong working relationships with key customers.
- The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) will be based in the Greater Toronto area however they will be responsible for coverage in other parts of the province and Saskatchewan, which may require them to be away from home approximately 30% of the time.
- The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) will abide by corporate policies and conduct themselves in a manner consistent with our corporate values.
- The Regional Oncogenomic Liaison (ROL) must strive for excellence in all aspects of his/her performance and is committed to continuous self-evaluation and development.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales within oncology (Breast cancer preferred)
- 10+ years sales experience overall, with a demonstrated record of success promoting complex products in medical oncology, diagnostics or biotech.
- Verifiable productive relationships with territory opinion leaders in the Provinces of Ontario and Saskatchewan.
- Self-starter and experience of working in smaller organizations or divisions within a larger healthcare company. – autonomous, entrepreneurial in thinking and approach.
- Strong business acumen and ability to think strategically.
- Experience of working with multiple stakeholders and decision makers within the designated territory.
- Proven large territory or large account management skills.
- Experience working with guideline and reimbursement authorities.
- Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and communication skills both written and oral. Possession of active license at time of hire and maintain throughout employment in position.
