Junior Accountant – EFI Engineering

EFI Engineering is a multi-disciplinary consulting and project management firm serving clients across Eastern Ontario and Northern New York. We're seeking a detail-driven, organized, and motivated Junior Accountant to join our growing finance team.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Junior Accountant will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, project billing, and financial reporting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and grow within a collaborative, fast-paced professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end close
• Assist in project billing, job costing, and expense allocation
• Maintain and organize financial records in QuickBooks Online
• Assist the CFO with budget tracking, forecasting, and variance reporting
• Contribute to audit preparation and internal control documentation

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• 1–2 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience (including co-op/internships)
• Strong proficiency in Excel and data management
• Experience with QuickBooks Online is a must
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proactive, dependable, and eager to learn in a team-oriented setting
