Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure databases on AWS cloud platforms.
  • Perform database administration tasks including installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and other relational databases.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery solutions are in place for critical databases.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of SQL queries, stored procedures, and overall database performance.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes using SSIS, scripting languages such as Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, and PL/SQL to facilitate data integration and migration.
  • Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues promptly, and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize database design and support application development efforts.
  • Automate routine tasks using scripting to improve efficiency and reliability of database operations.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and other relational databases.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services related to databases such as RDS, Aurora, or DynamoDB.
  • Expertise in high availability architectures and disaster recovery planning.
  • Proficiency in database design, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools like SSIS and scripting languages including Bash (Unix shell), Shell Scripting, PL/SQL, and general scripting for automation purposes.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of database security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
