Overview

Lower Mainland Road Building Company is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and coordinate large-scale construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of construction processes, and proficiency in industry-standard management software. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of managing multiple teams, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to project timelines and budgets. Compensation is negotiable and will be based on experience. The Construction Superintendent will play a pivotal role in maintaining project efficiency and client satisfaction.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to facilitate smooth workflow and communication.
  • Review blueprints, schematics, and construction documents to ensure accurate interpretation and implementation.
  • Oversee quality control measures to meet industry standards and project specifications.
  • Monitor construction costs and assist with budgeting and cost control strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and conduct regular safety meetings on-site.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify work quality and adherence to blueprints and schematics.
  • Supervises and mentors craft personnel: oversees own-force crews and subcontractors and managed the work.
  • Prepare reports on project status, risks, and issues for stakeholders.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years od supervisory experience as a Civil Superintendent on earthworks and underground utilities projects
  • Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or in a similar supervisory role within the construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, quality control procedures, and building codes.
  • Strong skills in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, construction estimating, and budgeting.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience managing diverse teams of construction professionals.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
