Are you passionate about creating a better community through high-quality urban design? The City of Beaumont is seeking two members to join the Design Review Committee

The Design Review Committee is a voluntary technical panel that provides expert and impartial design advice on proposed developments in the City that are subject to the Beaumont Urban Design Guidelines. The Design Review Committee helps to shape the built form of the community by guiding owners, designers and builders in the best possible way to apply the Beaumont Urban Design Guidelines.

The Beaumont Urban Design Guidelines are intended for designers, developers and builders working in Beaumont to understand the values and qualities that make the city unique and remarkable. The Guidelines help set the expectation around site and building design and level of quality for different types of development within Beaumont.

We are seeking:
  • Two members that hold professional expertise in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, planning, or engineering and practice locally or within the Edmonton metropolitan region.
  • Selected applicants will serve a 2-Year term. Members may serve on the Design Review Committee for two consecutive terms. They may serve for more than two consecutive terms if there are no other qualified applicants to fill their position.
  • The Design Review Committee attend meetings monthly, as needed during regular business hours.
Members of the Design Review Committee are responsible for the following:
  • Attend Design Review Committee meetings.
  • Participate and develop recommendations on development applications to ensure high quality design in Beaumont.
  • Maintain confidentiality as it pertains to any material that may be proprietary and is received by them in carrying out the mandate of the Design Review Committee.
  • Members may not participate in deliberating on development applications that would result in a conflict of interest personally, professionally, or for their organization. 
Applications are open from December 1 to December 14, 2025.
