Home Support Worker

The specific accountabilities / responsibilities of this position, while reporting to a single site, require the Home Support Worker to:

  • Respond to call bells and provide assistance to tenants when alerted
  • Provide housekeeping services for tenant apartments and common areas
  • Process tenant's personal laundry
  • Perform all necessary tasks in respect to the provisions of dietary services
  • Provide personal care for tenants as required

  • Maintain a clean and tidy environment, perform functions associated with waste management, and replenish supplies as needed

  • Communicate with staff, tenants, tenant families in a courteous and professional manner

  • Ensure adherence to 'Back on Track' Procedures

  • Wear required personal protective equipment in accordance with the department's safety protocols

  • Ensure all products / chemicals used in support of care services are properly labelled

  • Be aware of, immediately remove or report malfunctioning equipment and / or potential safety issues to the proper personnel

  • Be familiar with and adhere to York Care Centre's Code of Ethics, all Operational Policies and Procedures

  • Assist in the orientation of new staff
  • Participate in all required in-service / on-line education programs

NOTE: Related and allied duties may be assigned from time to time as may become necessary.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.81 per hour
