What You'll Do:
- Teach students in JK to Grade 8 in a multi-age, inclusive classroom
- Each teacher will be assigned to teach either JK to grade 3 or grade 4 to grade 8
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment that supports students' academic, emotional, and cultural development
- Incorporate Indigenous perspectives and land-based learning into the curriculum
- Collaborate with local Elders, families, and community members
- Plan engaging lessons aligned with provincial curriculum standards and community values
What We're Looking For:
- Certified teacher and be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers by the employment start date
- Experience teaching elementary grades (multi-grade experience is an asset)
- Knowledge of Anishinaabe Culture & Language is an asset.
- Knowledge of Land based teaching
- Commitment to Indigenous education and willingness to learn about First Nations cultures and traditions
- Flexible, patient, and culturally respectful
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
