JOB SUMMARY

This is a temporary position until October 5, 2027, with the possibility of extension

The Casino Licensing Specialist is responsible for determining the eligibility of applicants for charitable casino event licences to ensure compliance with Alberta Gaming Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC) policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will review casino licensing applications to ensure all required documentation is included and correspond with organizations for the collection of all outstanding application requirements. This position handles a high volume of applications, and the successful candidate must be able to prioritize workload to ensure that applications are processed within the designated performance measures.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Minimum of a high school diploma and three years of related experience
  • Post-secondary education a definite asset
  • Extensive knowledge of and ability to interpret policies, procedures, legislation and protocols
  • Ability to make independent decisions and to interpret legal documents, such as joint venture and partnership agreements
  • Ability to assess and process a high volume of inquiries and documents of a complex nature and prioritize workload
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to use AGLC applications
