Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial services and possess expertise in various accounting software. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

Duties

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Oversee account reconciliation processes, including accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Manage budgeting processes, providing forecasts and variance analysis to assist in strategic planning.
  • Process payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Utilize accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero for efficient financial management.
  • P&L (monthly)
  • Data Entries
  • File HST/Payroll returns
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for financial reporting and audits.
  • Assist in the development of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in financial services with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software including Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero.
  • Experience with account reconciliation, accounts receivable, accounts payable, budgeting, and payroll functions.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

*Must have 8 years minimum experience*
