Project Engineer

Reporting to the Manager, Utility Design, the Project Engineer is responsible for designing and reviewing underground and overhead electrical distribution and streetlighting systems (4kV–44kV).

Responsibilities:

• Design underground and overhead electrical distribution infrastructure (4kV – 44kV system voltages)
• Design streetlighting systems
• Perform required calculations (e.g. voltage drop, pulling tension, pole loading etc.)
• Conduct site checks and assessments
• Prepare and submit design packages for approval
• Coordinate designs and maintain schedules with customers, municipalities, utilities, and various other stakeholders
• Conduct technical reviews for peers and junior team members
• Interpret and apply working knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• Keep up to date with advances in design tools and industry standards
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• P. Eng. status with PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario) or ability to apply for P. Eng status by Summer 2026
• 5+ years of experience with utility design in Ontario
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

A few qualifications that would help you succeed:

• Experience with PLS-CADD and SpidaCALC
• Valid driver's license and driver's abstract in good standing
• Willingness to contribute to a culture of belonging
• Ability to learn and adapt to changing environments
