Early On Program Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY
EarlyON provides free, high-quality drop-in programs for families and their children 0-6 years old. EarlyON facilitates drop-in play, planned activities on-site, outings/trips off-site, and provides access to developmental resources, evaluations and referrals. The Coordinator works closely with families to promote healthy development, school readiness, and overall child and family well-being within a community-based, Indigenous-led environment.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
- Current Infant/Child/Adult CPR and First Aid (Level C)
- Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
- Up-to-date immunizations, TB test, and physician's clearance (free of communicable disease)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards (Child Care and Early Years Act, Public Health, Early Years programs)
- QCCN and Food Handlers certification considered an asset
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a safe, caring, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children
- EarlyON Coordinator will foster/promote the safety and well-being of families and their children visiting the centre.
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate activities
- Observe, document, and track children's development using approved screening tools
- Identify developmental concerns and make appropriate referrals to community resources
- Communicate effectively and build trusting relationships with children, families, and caregivers
- Support families by providing information, resources, and referrals
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
- Follow FENFC policies, procedures, and cultural teachings
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized learning environments, including daily sanitation
- Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development, and special events
- Assist with program-related events, outings, and fundraising as required
- Prepare required activity logs, attendance records, and reports in accordance with program and funder requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned by your Team Lead or Executive Director
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Strong understanding of child development and early learning frameworks
- Ability to observe, document, and assess developmental milestones
- Knowledge of inclusive practices and behaviour guidance strategies
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic reporting tools
