Position Overview

The Hockey Film Coach is responsible for video analysis, breakdown, and presentation to support player development, team systems, and game preparation. This role works closely with the Head Coach and coaching staff to translate video insights into clear, teachable feedback for athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

Capture, tag, and analyze game and practice video using approved video platforms

Prepare individual and team video sessions focused on skill development, tactics, and decision-making

• Create opponent scouting packages and pre-scout reports
• Support special teams and situational analysis (5-on-5, PP, PK, late-game scenarios)
• Provide individual player clips and feedback aligned with development plans
• Maintain an organized video library and ensure timely delivery of content to staff and players
• Assist coaching staff with data, trends, and performance insights as needed

Qualifications:

Strong understanding of hockey systems, tactics, and player development

Experience with hockey video software (e.g., Hudl, XOS, Sportlogiq, Instat, Steva, or similar)

Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to junior-aged athletes

High attention to detail, organization, and time management, Previous playing, coaching, or video coaching experience preferred

Commitment & Environment:

Evening and weekend availability required (games, practices, travel)
