Our direct client is looking for a Sr. Planner – Supply Chain for a full-time direct hire position.

Our client, a well-funded, fast-growing diagnostics startup (5+ years in operation).

Sr. Planner – Supply Chain Leader

  • Client location Mississauga, Canada area
  • Onsite (5 days/week)
  • Salary $120k - $145k + RSU + benefits

You are a proactive and detail-oriented supply chain professional with a passion for supporting innovation in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. With a background in biomedical or electro-mechanical manufacturing, you excel at managing demand and production planning, inventory and warehousing, and new product introduction (NPI) activities. You are skilled at building strong supplier relationships, navigating ERP systems, and driving process improvements to enhance both efficiency and compliance. Your analytical mindset, ability to manage a diverse portfolio of materials and collaborative approach make you a trusted partner across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business, or supply chain management, or equivalent experience
  • Experience supporting supply chain development and NPI in a manufacturing setting, ideally biomedical or electro-mechanical
  • Familiarity with vendor management, purchasing, inventory management, and production planning fundamentals
  • Strong organization, analytical, problem solving and data management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and capable with ERP/MES systems (MISys preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work at a fast pace
  • Experience with Startup company helping them with 0 - 1 to Production or Communization

Nice to have:

  • Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, diagnostics, or biotechnology
  • Familiarity with GMP, ISO 13485, or other quality standards
  • Advanced ERP/MISys/production planning experience
  • Contributions to new product launches or technology transfer
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement tools

Responsibilities:

Top 5 Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain production schedules to support demand plan
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure proper balance of raw materials and finished goods is maintained
  • Establish and manage MISys data and master setup for new product development and design transfer
  • Plan and execute prototype procurement and assembly
  • Drive continuous improvement in overall planning processes

Production Planning:

  • Set inventory levels and procure raw materials, components, and services to support reliable production
  • Analyze data to determine capacity and identify potential production delays
  • Evaluate production performance and adjust production schedules as needed
  • Work with manufacturing leadership to plan purchasing and production, minimizing excess inventory and reducing carrying costs
  • Execute and monitor manufacturing/ work orders and support ongoing cost tracking

NPI & Master Data Management:

  • Identify and qualify new suppliers in partnership with engineering and supplier quality
  • Develop KPIs and dashboards to monitor and drive procurement activities related to NPI
  • Manage RFx (RFI/RFP/RFQ) cycles for new designs
  • Coordinate between suppliers and engineering to facilitate smooth prototype and final build timelines
  • Drive commercial negotiations that align costs to COGS targets
  • Maintain accurate master data in MISys, including parts, BOMs, suppliers, jobs, and locations

Demand Planning & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and refine demand forecasts
  • Ensure all supply chain documentation is maintained with audit readiness in mind
  • Track and archive supplier change notifications, ensuring GMP and quality compliance in all documentation processes

Warehousing & Logistics Support:

  • Assist with receiving, shipping, inventory transfer, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution as needed
  • Establish and maintain raw materials inventory locations and processes for inventory management
  • Work with shipping and receiving personnel to process RMAs and Customer owned materials
  • Support the flow of goods throughout supply chain

Process Testing & Troubleshooting:

  • Assist in process validation and improvements within the MES/ERP environment
  • Support process testing and change management; resolve system and operational issues independently or with IT

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive enhancements in procurement, production planning, and supply chain processes
  • Partner on cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable improvements to business outcomes
