SureWerx is seeking a Senior Credit and Collections Analyst to manage a portfolio of distributor accounts receivable across Canada, the United States, and international markets. This role is responsible for ensuring timely collections, accurate account reconciliation, credit adjudication, and compliance with internal policies. The successful candidate will work closely with distributors, Sales, IT, and internal stakeholders across multiple time zones, with a primary operational focus on U.S. west coast customers. The position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to managing credit risk and collections performance.

This position is based in the Canada and may be hybrid or remote, depending on the candidate's location and business needs. The hours of work are: 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform collection activities on overdue distributor accounts to ensure timely payment.
  • Review and release customer orders held in credit queues in accordance with internal credit policies.
  • Reconcile customer accounts, including detailed analysis and resolution of deductions, claims, cash receipts, and credit memo applications.
  • Monitor, investigate, and resolve short payments and unauthorized deductions.
  • Manage manual and automated cash applications for cheques, EFTs, and other payment methods, resolving unapplied or misapplied payments.
  • Conduct outbound collection calls and send professionally written follow-up communications; receive and manage inbound customer inquiries effectively.
  • Adjudicate credit for new customer accounts and review existing credit limits by obtaining and interpreting credit reports and references.
  • Prepare credit recommendations for approval by the Credit Supervisor or Credit Manager.
  • Maintain and update customer master data within ERP systems, including tax status, credit terms, and contact details.
  • Ensure accurate coding of general ledger transactions within accounts receivable sub-ledgers.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and audit trails for collections activity, payment arrangements, and related correspondence.
  • Prepare and present clear explanations, reports, and analysis to distributors and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with Sales, IT, Management, and cross-functional teams across multiple time zones.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounts receivable, credit, and collections within a B2B environment.
  • Associate degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field is preferred but not required; an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will also be considered.

  • Strong understanding of the full order-to-cash lifecycle in a high-transaction-volume environment.

  • Experience in financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong ethical standards and a self-starter attitude.
  • Ability to meet critical business deadlines while managing competing priorities.
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools is an asset.
  • Skilled user of ERP systems (Prelude experience considered a strong asset).
  • Experience downloading data from web-based portals and uploading flat files.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, macros, and advanced formulas.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues and implement constructive solutions.
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; bilingual French capability is an asset but not required.
