The Program
Resilient Families is a program funded by Children and Family Services through the Family and Community Resiliency division and serves three Family Resource Networks (FRNs) within the city of Calgary. This program provides in-home support services to families that are experiencing multiple risk factors and dealing with considerable adversity. The program also works closely with the assigned hubs and the partnering agencies (spokes) attached to the hubs. This role includes facilitating and supporting parent and youth groups, depending on the needs of families within their FRN. The hubs serve a large geographic area within the city, where families can go to access various supports and services for their children and their families. The program collaborates with all family members to strengthen, preserve and build resiliency for families. By engaging and teaching new skills, families are empowered to improve their own lives.
