We're hiring a Senior Engineer to own our MVP (Equity role)

I'm the founder of Monimate, a fintech startup building Personal Financial Stability Intelligence (PFSI) — a new way to predict and explain financial pressure before it happens.

We are at a critical MVP stage and I'm looking for one senior engineer who can take charge of execution, not just write tickets.

This is not a junior role.

This is not a freelance task list.

This is a leadership + hands-on build role.

What you'll own


• Technical ownership of the MVP


• Turning product logic into a clean, scalable architecture


• Setting engineering standards and workflows (repos, tickets, environments)


• Working closely with me (founder) to translate product intent into code


• Coordinating and guiding other engineers where needed

What we're building


• Fintech product using bank data (Plaid)


• Core concepts: cash-flow timing, pressure modeling, recovery capacity


• Mobile app (React Native) + backend services


• Early but well-defined product logic and scope

What I'm looking for


• Senior backend or full-stack engineer


• Experience shipping real products (not just prototypes)


• Comfortable making architectural decisions


• Calm, structured, and communicative


• Comfortable in early-stage ambiguity


• Willing to work equity-first (startup stage)

Tech (current / planned)


• Backend: / Python (open to discussion)


• APIs, data modeling, system design


• Mobile: React Native (existing)


• Cloud: AWS (or equivalent)

Compensation


• Equity-based (early-stage founder-level impact)


• Possibility of salary later as funding unlocks
