We are currently seeking a qualified Senior Reliability Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • As the System Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and maturing our safety processes and ensuring the safety and compliance of our delivered products. Using your skills and knowledge you will assess both hardware and software to ensure mission success and uphold safety standards. You will be well-versed in industry safety standards, such as MIL-STD-882E, especially within the defense, marine, or aerospace industry.
  • (SSPP), Preliminary Hazard Analyses (PHA), Functional Hazard Analyses (FHA), Sub-System Hazard Analyses (SSHA), and Safety Assessment Reports (SAR).
  • Act as the Program Safety Manager for key initiatives and programs, while offering guidance and support on safety aspects and smaller projects.
  • Prepare presentations and participate in design reviews, test readiness reviews, technical interchange meetings, and various working groups and safety review meetings both internally and with our external customers.
  • Support the development and maintenance of system safety documents to meet customer and contractual requirements.
  • Lead system safety engineering working groups to implementing standards defined in MIL-STD-882E or equivalent global safety standards.
  • Collaborate with system engineers to identify and create Safety Functional Requirements.
  • Review and provide input to internal and acceptance test procedures for adherence to system safety requirements.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement and expansion of the company's System Safety processes
  • Assist in evaluating and ensuring that products and systems comply with environmental regulations and standards, including REACH and RoHS

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in system safety engineering
  • Knowledge of System Safety Standards and design principles.
  • Experience with hazard identification, analysis, risk mitigation, and associated documentation.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-882E, specifically with software LOR
  • Experience with Fault Tree Analysis and other industry SSE tools and technique
  • Experience using other relevant industry and/or range safety standards.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Compensation: $85,000 – $105,000 CAD (annual salary) 

The base salary or rate offered to an applicant within this range is determined by considering several factors, including the individual's geographic location, skills, competencies, and unique qualifications. This ensures compensation is fair and aligned with the specific requirements and attributes of each candidate.
