HCOS Education Assistants are independent contractors who are resourceful and innovative educators, providing student support to Home Learners within the Inclusive Education Department.

Summary

We are looking for a dynamic, part-time Education Assistant with a desire to learn and grow while supporting a Grade 1 student in Fort St. James, BC. The position offers 4-10 hours per week during the 2025/26 school year.

Specific training working with students with diverse abilities, such as an Education Assistant certificate (or equivalent), is preferred.

Responsibilities

As an Education Assistant, your duties and responsibilities with this student will include:

  • Supporting academics at a preschool level
  • Supporting executive functioning and self-regulation
  • Contributing to the social, spiritual, and academic growth of the student, providing mentorship to the whole person
  • Collaborating with the Case Manager and the parent to support personalized learning opportunities
  • Assisting in carrying out IEP goals, working alongside the broader student support team

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $23.97-$28.13 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 10 per week
