Job Overview
Status: 0.20 FTE (1 day per week), temporary
We are seeking a Clinical Simulation Specialist to join our dynamic team.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant to the Chief of Staff and in collaboration with the Coordinator and Medical Director of the Simulation Center, the Clinical Simulation Specialist supports the daily operations of the center's technical platform. The incumbent is responsible for operating and monitoring the proper functioning of sophisticated technologies that support learning activities, specifically in clinical simulation, such as simulation mannequins and audiovisual equipment. He or she provides first-line technical assistance to users in the event of technical problems.
In addition, he or she programs, prepares, and stages simulation scenarios in conjunction with the clinical sector in anticipation of learning activities that may require the use of human bodies or anatomical parts for training purposes. He or she trains users and supports them in the use of various simulation technologies from a technical and technological standpoint. They also support trainers in all phases of a learning activity, such as analysis, design, planning, delivery, and evaluation. Together with the center's team and the clinicians and professionals involved, they participate in the implementation of the educational engineering process.
Finally, the Clinical Simulation Specialist collaborates in the implementation of the simulation center's technical platform by monitoring the installation of audiovisual and IT equipment and systems.
Qualifications
- University degree in a clinical or engineering-related field
- Technical training may be considered an asset in the fields of computer science, audiovisual technology, or more specifically, the handling of anatomical specimens and human subjects
- 2 years of relevant work experience in a related field. Experience in a clinical and teaching environment is an asset
- Experience in troubleshooting and operating computer and/or audiovisual systems
- Fluency in French written and spoken; capacity to communicate in English is required in order to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients and/or stakeholders
